  • HOW FIT DO I NEED TO BE TO PARTICIPATE?
Muskoka's Incredible Race is committed to being accessible to a wide range of ages and abilities. Not all activities require physical fitness. That being said, a moderate activity level is required, as the modified summer course covers approximately 2.7 km and the full summer course covers approximately 4.2 km.. Please let us know if special accommodations are required. We will do our best to ensure that everyone can participate.
  • IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE TO PARTICIPATE?
Nope. We've welcomed participants as young as 3 ½ and can easily adapt activities to be kid-friendly. Kids five and under participate for free. Note that the total distance of the activity is approximately 2.7 km, so there may be some stroller pushing or piggy backing involved with the younger set! We ask that anyone under the age of 10 be accompanied by an adult or older teen, as they will be exploring the route unaccompanied. Local activity hosts will be able to provide them with some direction along the route. Each team is asked to bring along a cell phone for contact purposes.
  • HOW IS IT LIKE THE REALITY TV SHOW?
Like the television show, you will be able to experience activities that are iconic to the region (Muskoka). Along the route, you will meet local activity hosts, who will explain and support the activities. Similar to the tv show, you will not know what the challenges are until you arrive. Also, you participate as a team (although a team may be from 2-5 people). Unlike the tv show, there are no eliminations! Your team will be given a map at the beginning of your adventure, so you won't waste time getting lost. Muskoka's Incredible Race is not a physical endurance test - this is your adventure and you experience it at your own pace. Oh yeah, and there's no million dollar prize or private jet. But pride. You'll earn lots of that!
  • CAN WE BOOK A GROUP OF MORE THAN 5 PEOPLE?
Absolutely! The more, the merrier! When groups are larger than 5 participants, however, we need to hire more staff, so we ask that you contact us directly at muskokasincrediblerace@gmail.com or (705) 571-2491 vs. booking online. That way you also get the group discount! We would love to accommodate your large group.
  • HOW MANY TEAMS CAN WE HAVE?
The smaller your team, the more chances you have to participate actively in all of the challenges! Here is the maximum amount of teams we can create for your group: 2-5 people - 1 or 2 teams 6-7 people - 2 or 3 teams 7-9 people - 2, 3 or 4 teams 10+ people - up to 5 teams
  • WHERE DOES IT START AND END?
The summer version of Muskoka's Incredible Race starts at Avery Beach Park, where there is free parking, and ends at either River Mill Park or back at Avery Beach Park. The adventures waiting en route for you ... that's yours to discover!
  • WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Summer version: Appropriate footwear (running shoes) that you don't mind getting dirty, clothing suitable for the weather and a reusable water bottle. At least one member of each team will need to have a cell phone with them during the race. And one person per team should be prepared to get wet(!) sometime during the race... Winter version: Outdoor clothing for activities that may last up to 2 hours, including boots with good traction. At least one member of each team will need to have a cell phone with them during the race.
  • HOW DO GIFT CERTIFICATES WORK?
Gift certificates allow you to purchase free participation in Muskoka's Incredible for the number of people you wish. The cost is $69 per person (taxes included) and can be etransfered to muskokasincrediblerace@gmail.com. Gift certificates are redeemable any year/season. We will mail you the number of gift certificates you require.
  • HOW WILL MY SAFETY BE ENSURED IN A COVID-19 WORLD?
Muskoka’s Incredible Race takes your concerns re: the safety of your health in a COVID-19 world seriously. Every effort will be made to ensure that you have a safe and fun adventure outside. Individual teams will have access to their own specific set of materials throughout the race so that the touching of surfaces is minimized. Physical distancing will be maintained at all times and hand sanitizer will be accessible to you throughout the race. Activity hosts will keep a safe physical distance from all participants and will wear masks if a 2 m distance isn't possible. All activity hosts have been vaccinated multiple times and all activities happen outdoors. We are proud to have been awarded a #SafeTravels Stamp by the World Travel and Tourism Council for adopting standardized health and hygiene protocols.
  • DO I HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO SWIM? (Summer version only!)
No, although members of each team will have the opportunity to use a stand up paddleboard and an Origami Paddler during the race in shallow water. PFD's are provided and a staff member supervises the activity. If you are really uncomfortable with water activities, just let us know and we'll have an alternate land-based activity waiting for you.
