HOW FIT DO I NEED TO BE TO PARTICIPATE?
Muskoka's Incredible Race is committed to being accessible to a wide range of ages and abilities. Not all activities require physical fitness. That being said, a moderate activity level is required, as the winter race course covers approximately 3 km. (Someone will have to walk back to the car after the race.) Please let us know if special accomodations are required. We will do our best to ensure that everyone can participate.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Summer version: Appropriate footwear (running shoes) that you don't mind getting dirty, clothing suitable for the weather, a mask (in case we have to interact with you within a 2 m distance outside) and a reusable water bottle. At least one member of each team will need to have a cell phone with them during the race. And one person per team should be prepared to get wet(!) sometime during the race...
Winter version: Outdoor clothing for activities that may last up to 2 hours, including boots with good traction. At least one member of each team will need to have a cell phone with them during the race.
HOW WILL MY SAFETY BE ENSURED IN A COVID-19 WORLD?
Muskoka’s Incredible Race takes your concerns re: the safety of your health in a COVID-19 world seriously. Every effort will be made to ensure that you have a safe and fun adventure outside. Individual teams will have access to their own specific set of materials throughout the race so that the touching of surfaces is minimized. Physical distancing will be maintained at all times and hand sanitizer will be accessible to you throughout the race. Activity hosts will keep a safe physical distance from all participants and will wear masks if a 2 m distance isn't possible. All activity hosts have been double vaccinated and all activities happen outdoors. Please reach out to us at email@example.com if you have any specific concerns or questions. We are proud to have been awarded a #SafeTravels Stamp by the World Travel and Tourism Council for adopting standardized health and hygiene protocols.
HOW DO GIFT CERTIFICATES WORK?
Gift certificates allow you to purchase free participation in Muskoka's Incredible for the number of people you wish. The cost is $69 per person (taxes included) and can be etransfered to firstname.lastname@example.org. Gift certificates are redeemable any year/season. We will mail you the number of gift certificates you require.
HOW MANY TEAMS CAN WE HAVE?
The smaller your team, the more chances you have to participate actively in all of the challenges! Here is the maximum amount of teams we can create for your group:
2-5 people - 1 or 2 teams
6-7 people - 2 or 3 teams
7-9 people - 2, 3 or 4 teams
10+ people - up to 5 teams
CAN WE BOOK A GROUP OF MORE THAN 5 PEOPLE?
Absolutely! At this time, we can accommodate up to 20 people per race (or five teams with a maximum of 20 people), as it is outdoors and with all COVID protocol in place.
When groups are larger than 5 participants, we need to hire more staff, so ask that you contact us directly at email@example.com or (705) 571-2491 vs. booking online. That way you also get the group discount! We would love to accommodate your large group. The more, the merrier!
WHERE DOES IT START?
Muskoka's Incredible Race starts at Avery Beach Park, where there is free parking.
Where it ends ... that's up to you to discover!!
IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE TO PARTICIPATE?
Nope. Participants under the age of 5 are free, as they may not be able to fully participate in all activities. Note that the total distance of the activity is approximately 5 ½ km, so there may be some stroller pushing or piggy backing involved with the younger set!
We ask that anyone under the age of 10 be accompanied by an adult or older teen, as they will be exploring the route unaccompanied. Local activity hosts will be able to provide them with some direction along the route. Each team is asked to bring along a cell phone for contact purposes.
DO I HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO SWIM? (Summer version only!)
No, although one member of each team will have the opportunity to use a stand up paddleboard during the race, in shallow water. PFD's are provided and a staff member supervises the activity. If you are really uncomfortable with water activities, just let us know and we'll have an alternate activity waiting for you.
